Purchased said case and some Sass Cables. Took around six weeks to build system due to work and family commitments. Discovered that one of the backplanes was broken.
Contacted X-Case and received replacement backplane within 24hours. Great service unlike some companies.
A pleasure to deal with.

Do the drive bays have error/activity LEDs and if so does the backplane support GPIO/Sideband signals to control them?
X-Case No if you want SGPIO Fault activity you need our 424 Pro

Serious Kit

A very impressive piece of kit for the price! Some build instructions would make life a little easier when it comes to installing alternative psu's sourced from x-case though - I seem to have rather a lot of random metal pieces left over that possibly should have been bolted in somewhere?!
Only other criticism would be that a couple of the drive caddy's were a little on the tight side in terms of fitment but once loaded with a drive and slotted in and out a couple of times they were ok.
Would happily buy another one though!

Good materials and build quality, seems robust with no sharp edges. The three huge fans in the middle of the chassis do nice job, however I had to remount them onto other side of the metal plate, as they were spatially interfering with power/data cables connected to the backplanes. A small manual would be welcome as there are many mysterious metal parts supplied and I still did not manage to find use for all of them :)
