It's a seasonic supply which is good news, given the form factor I can appreciate that they're not so common but it felt a bit dear, especially since the 12V output is sadly spread over two rails, for boards which actually utilize the provided 8-Pin CPU power connector, you'll undoubtedly be cutting it thin despite the generous power ratings. As for noise, I didn't have any expectation for this PSU to be quiet, it's not super loud which is good meaning it might be suitable for a small SOHO rackmount PC. I put this PSU in an x-case 10" deep 1U chassis, which fit perfectly and it is being used as a firewall appliance for a home office. I added an expansion card and an SSD, the board is a low power chip (10W TDP) so I'm certainly not stretching this PSU at all, I wouldn't be comfortable running a modern i7 or E3 chip inside this board though. Especially if there were a few drives installed.
So hassling to get useless reviews is pointless
Not only was this a great value replacement for the PSU that had failed on my HP Microserver but it is a greater capacity than the original and is near silent running too. Noise is not normally a huge concern for server PSU's but when it's running at home 24/7 I was really pleased that I can now barely hear that the machine is running - a huge improvement to the old supply. Delivery and service from X-Case was excellent too. Thank you! Dave
I'm really pleased with this power supply, fits great in a super short 1U mini-ITX case. I can barely hear it even if I put my ear next to it which I'm really impressed with. I was worried it would be really loud. Reasonable mix of connectors. 24 pin ATX, 4+4 EPS, 2x SATA, 1x Molex.
